What we’ve been up to…

March 16, 2009

About a month ago, a friend in the ward asked if I would like to work at a tax office a couple hours a day till the end of tax season. So, for about a month now, I have been printing checks, filing tax returns and fixing rejected tax returns. I work about 2 hours each day and then go home to take tests and read about E-commerce and operating leverage. The nice thing about working is it gets me out of the house, and we having a little bit more spending money.

We have also had some great company recently.  Adam’s parents came and spent president’s day weekend with us. His mom used to live in Houston, so Adam went with his parents to check out her old neighborhood. Adam’s grandpais buried in the national cemetery in Houston, so they were also able to go see that.  Kirk and Karen were very nice to take us out to dinner a few times while they were here. We also got to take them to kemah boardwalk, which overlooks the bay.  They were also great fun to play pool and shuffleboard with.

We are still preparing to go to China. My mom and sister are going to come visit us and they have already booked nanjing1a flight! Adam was recently asked to switch to a different city for work. Instead of going to Shanghai, we will now be heading to Nanjing. Nanjing is only 3 hours west of Shanghai and it is still a pretty big city. We are still excited and it will still be a big adventure for us.
